DailyThought #64 - How I Talk

There are some things that words cannot say. So, I might sing a song. If the song doesn’t do what I thought it would do, then I might go on a walk. When I get home from the walk, I’ll paint the sun and the sky, but there is still something left to be said. Maybe there is always something left.

Seeing an old man cry makes me think that there is no such thing as peace. It something we chase that can never be caught. When I turn on the news, I think that most of the world has given up on the idea that peace can be a reality. Maybe because our leaders don’t sing or paint. Or maybe, because they chased an idea for decades longer than I, and realized they were tripped every step of the way. But, we have accomplished a lot of things that were deemed unrealistic, so why can’t it be peace? Why can’t we laugh together instead of at each other?

I hope that more people look at the trees or the sky and see peace. And if other thoughts cloud their view, maybe they can go home and paint about it. I don’t know. It has helped me.

On my drive home every day, the sun sets in my rearview mirror. I can't help but turn my head behind me, losing focus on the road ahead of me. Colors mix within the clouds as I swerve left and right.
