DailyThought #17 - Doing Good

I work with a man. They call him Kid. I noticed from the day I started that Kid had a good heart. You can’t fake sencarity. And you can’t hide it either. Every morning, Kid makes sure I am fed. Even if I am, he brings me shrimp and grits. As he gives it to me, with a smile, he says if I need anything else to let him know. He ends it with, “I got you.” And walks away as he pats his hand over his heart. And I do not get speacial treatment. He does this with everyone. The first week of work, I mentioned how nice of a person Kid was, trying to get a gauge on his motive. I was met with his praise. His motive is kindness, and he shows it through action. More people should be like Kid; I know I will try to be. I hope life treats him as well as he treats others, because that wouldn’t seem right.
