A Letter To Death

Your presence is what gives life value.

Your fear is what gives time purpose.

Your work has taken my family,

& killed my friends,

Given me sorrow,

Again & again.

I know I’m not alone in my thought,

Because you do this everyday.

I know I’m not alone in my cot,

Because everywhere you stay.

Your decisions unclear,

And precision brings tears.

But the tears that drop to the ground today,

Will feed the flowers for tomorrow.

The breath you take from a man today,

Gives breath for a baby to borrow.
