DailyThought #43 - Impact

Impact is a powerful thing. And that is why it can be just as danergous as it can be good. People who want impact for the wrong reasons will do anything in their ability to keep it. But, what is interesting to me, is the one’s that should have impact, don’t want it. Those who would be the best leaders, don’t strive to be a leader, they just are. This is where I become conflicted: I want impact, but I don’t want power. Power holds people, impact nudges them. I want to have impact in the palm of my hand, but hold it as a feather, not a hammer. Maybe I want impact because I trust myself and the love I have for others. Maybe I want impact as a lead to power - but hopefully not. Maybe we don’t know until we have it. I just hope that those who have impact, whether they want it or not, have it for the right reasons. Because although they are only human, they have a duty to the rest of us. The use of the duty could safe us all and the misuse of that duty could kill us all.
