DailyThought #24 - Our Future

During conversations with my grandpa, he always tells me to come back to Wyoming. He always says, “Wyoming needs more young people.” And this had me thinking, why does he care? He is at the end of his life, after living a full one. He has not only contributed to his local community, but he has contributed to his state as well. He has done his part.

But that is not the point. It seems that the longer people live, the more they want to ensure a quality life for those they will inevitably leave behind. It is the same reason he tells me to save gas, not litter, recycle, etc. He will be long gone before the world ends, sadly. But he cares. He cares that I can live a life as full as his, and he cares that my children will too. I believe that is a beautiful thing, and a selfless thing, too. No matter the inconvenience, he will try to do right, so I can live right. And so you can, too. Thank you, Grandpa.
