DailyThought #22 - Redemption

Who is deserving of redemption?

In a perfect world, I would like to stay everyone is deserving of redemption, of forgiveness, of a second chance. But then again, our world is not perfect, and our people do imperfect things. Everyone has made mistakes and everyone has done wrong. Each person should be granted an opportunity to right their wrong, growing from the experience as a whole.

But to what point?

Do we let murders out of prison, hoping they don’t murder again?

What about those who have made the mistake of ending their life? If they were to regret their decision, shouldn’t they be granted a second chance?

Sadly, life does not work like that. Sometimes, second chances are only seen in movies.

With all that being said, redemption is not exterior. One has to give themselves a second chance before anyone else can begin to do so. The path to growth is a long one; and it is not straight or flat.
